Tonight Show Net Neutrality Spoof

John Oliver sums up team cables plan for the internet

Some Enlightening and interesting comments from the Tonight Show Post

  • Never fear, this is America and eventually the internet will be reserved for those with the money to purchase the access.  Today, tomorrow, eventually ... it will become the Kochnet and right wing billionaires will be able to decide what you can pull up on your computer.  When that happens, they will boast that it is "the market" operating efficiently, as always.   --Henry Chinaski
  • Allowing the wealthy to pay extra for the fastest internet would be almost as catastrophic as allowing them to pay extra for cars with the latest safety features.  --Anakha82
  • No, people are already paying different prices for different internet speeds.  Ending net neutrality would be like charging a location to allow people to drive there. Want our roads to take people to you, Las Vegas? That'll be $50,000/car.  --Bachmaij

Obama's Plan for a Free and Open Internet

Obama has given full responsibility to the FCC regarding any laws that deal with net neutrality stating that FCC is an independent entity.  He elaborates that the internet should be a fair medium where every site gets an equal amount of speed, a high schoolers blog should not get less bandwidth then a site paying an ISP or running advertisements.  According to Obama 4 key rules should be established:
  • No Blocking
  • No Throttling
  • Increased Transparency
  • No Paid Prioritization
